Take A Day Trip To Downtown Los Angeles on Metrolink on the Ventura County Line on Saturday January 19th!!

Do you have anything planned for Saturday - January 19th (2019)???  Why not take a ride on a Metrolink train?  Whether to the "Women's March" or just to visit downtown Los Angeles for a few hours.  The total travel cost will only be $10 by purchasing a "Weekend Day Pass" offered by Metrolink.  Especially, since the Metrolink train does not normally have weekend service on the Ventura County Line.  There is a special train bringing residents into Los Angeles and another special train delivering the same residents back home on Saturday -- January 19th.  If you live along the Ventura County Line which stops at the following locations shown on the map below:

The following stops (which will be serviced January 19th only) are located along the Ventura County Line: (1) Moorpark, (2) Simi Valley, (3) Chatsworth, (4) Northridge, (5) Van Nuys, (6) Bob Hope Airport, (7) Burbank, (8) Glendale.   Note: click on any of the hyperlinked stops just listed to be directed to the Metrolink webpage for more information about the stop.

If you have never had the opportunity to ride the Metrolink Train System, click here for an introduction.  Further, if you have had trouble reading the Metrolink time table, click here or here for a demonstration.  For ticket vending machine assistance, here is a short video.

Remember, while riding on board Metrolink Trains on Saturday and Sunday to purchase a $10 all day "Weekend Day Pass" instead of paying normal fare.  Just $10 to travel all day.  Use the "tap portion" on the upper right hand corner of your Metrolink Ticket to ride all Metro buses and Metro light rails trains for free (Red line, Gold line, Orange line, etc.) for free as long as the "Weekend Day Pass" is valid.

As I just mentioned, normally there is not weekend service on the Ventura County Line.  Although, if enough people ride the train, then the numbers will show a possible demand for weekend service.  If you have not had the chance to use the promotional tickets offered by Metrolink train service, then now is a great time to ride the train.

Leaving Moorpark at 7:30 am toward L.A. Union Station

Here is the time table of the Metrolink Train running on the Ventura County Line -- Leaving Moorpark at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning (January 19th) and arriving at Los Angeles Union Station at 8:45 a.m. shown below:

Since this is a special train, there is an "x" located at the end of the train number.  We hope to change that in the future with weekend service on the Ventura County Line.

Leaving L.A. Union Station at 2:30 p.m. toward Moorpark

After spending a few hours in Los Angeles, the returning train leaves Los Angeles Union Station, you can catch the Metrolink Train leaving Union Station at 2:30 p.m. heading toward Moorpark to arrive at 3:45 p.m.  The schedule is shown below:

Again, this service does not normally run on the weekends.  Why?  Because the Metrolink board does not believe that there is a demand for service in and out of Los Angeles on the weekend.  If you feel like there should be weekend service on the Ventura County Line by Metrolink trains, let the Metrolink Board of Directors know by emailing them at holmank@scrra.net    Just simply say in a sentence or two, "I would like weekend service on the Ventura County Line in order to take a Metrolink train. Thank you."  Additionally, specify where you live on the Ventura County Line.

Be sure to take a chance to explore the Metrolink Train service on Saturday, January 19th -- either to the "Women's March" or just to downtown Los Angeles to have a short day in the city -- CAR FREE, STRESS FREE.

Have a great adventure.  See you on the train!
